Brindisi Province
Covering just over 700 square miles the Brindisi province stretches along the north-eastern coast of the heel of Italy facing the clear blue waters of the Adriatic Sea. Brindisi

It has its own international airport called Papola Casale close to the city, a mile or two to the north, which has good services to many major cities of europe, including Gatwick, Stansted and Manchester offering reasonably priced flights, especially off peak.

The province is not a heavy industrial area, but mainly relies on agriculture and a growing tourist industry, with by far and away customers from the northern Italian cities with very few foreigners.

Most of the province consists of a fairly flat coastal plain with it seems any hilltop dominated by a small, once fortified town, the area inbetween a maze of olive groves with a few vineyards and orchards, criss-crossed by very narrow, un-named lanes.

Because of the good communications, ie cheap flights, cheap house prices (and the famed trulli), small ex-pat communities are gradually springing up in many areas, mainly away from the very undeveloped coast.
